Continued Credibility for the IICRC
-IICRC approved as an accredited body of ANSI-
VANCOUVER, WA (October 18, 2005) — The American National Standards Institute (ANSI), an organization that coordinates the voluntary standardization and conformity assessment system used across all U.S. industries announced its accreditation of the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) as an approved standard writing organization.
“Receiving ANSI accreditation is a major advancement for the IICRC,” said Larry Cooper, member of the IICRC standards committee. “Having an outside organization review and audit our policies and procedures gives our policies additional credibility that our industry needs.”
The IICRC participated in a ten month review process to gain accreditation during which the Standard Policies and Procedures and the IICRC style guide were submitted and updated to include policies for an ANSI accredited body.
“The next step will be submitting individual standards to ANSI for approval and acceptance,” stated Mr. Cooper, “we know there is a lot of work to do to in this process, but the IICRC is committed to increasing the integrity and acceptance of its procedures.”
ANSI accredits organizations and their principles and practices across all industries to enhance both the global competitiveness of U.S. business and the U.S. quality of life. Member organizations include educational institutions, companies, professional associations, and government members.
